About

jayI’ve always been fascinated with photography, even as a little boy growing up in rural Louisiana. Beauregard Parish remains a favorite place of inspiration from the small country churches nestled in the piny woods to the lakes and creeks that sprawl through the forests. I use a Digital Rebel XT with various lenses and occasionally a Nikon Coolpix P2. I’ve owned about a half dozen digital cameras over the past ten years and I’m still learning. It’s a fun and adventurous process.

Living now in Arizona has presented a different kind of inspiration. I moved to Tucson in 2001. I love the mountains and hills and the dry desert climate. The wide open skies and sunsets are quite breathtaking. I fly back to Louisiana as often as I can to visit but there is no other place in the world quite like Arizona. They are, however, both home to me.

These photographs are a glimpse into my little world from my own perspective. Although I’m only an amateur, please don’t link to, copy or use them in any way without permission. If you are so inclined to purchase a laser print or if you would just like to say hello, send an e-mail to jayjbarrow at gmail dot com. I also semi-update the journal at mutability.com.
